We recently posted our favorite games of 2019. The only thing left for us is to post the results of our first ever reader poll! We easily surpassed our great response from last year, so let's see which app YOU loved in 2019!
Best Board Game App of 2019
The readers agree with us! This was a close race, but Burgundy led wire-to-wire and ended up with a fairly comfortable margin. The complete top 5:
- Castles of Burgundy - 17%
- 7 Wonders Duel - 14%
- Raiders of the North Sea - 13%
- Evolution - 11%
- Shards of Infinity / Mystic Vale - 10%
Nothing else received over 10%, but the close top 6 shows how many really great apps were released in 2019.

Most Anticipated Phone/Tablet Game
Despite all of the votes, this one somehow ended in a tie. Roll for the Galaxy and Root winning isn't much of a surprise. Roll is coming from Temple Gates Games who make some of the smoothest digital board games out there and Root is one of the biggest tabletop games of recent memory. Elsewhere, Wingspan being the current midweight hotness makes sense as a popular upcoming title. Spirit Island is another great, deep solo game coming from Handelabra. I'm a little surprised at Quacks coming in so low, but

Digital Board Games Purchase In 2019
This one was kind of wild to see. Nearly half of the responders purchased over 7 digital board games in 2019? And nearly 80% with at least 4? Very cool to see those kind of numbers. To the sole respondent who took our survey but didn't purchase any digital board games in 2019, we salute you.
