This is the first installment of what will become a regular column covering what games are currently in development and any details we know. Upcoming Releases are an inexact science as often publishers or developers don’t officially announce a game until shortly before its release. Sometimes when the news does get out earlier, the details are scarce, if not completely non-existent. We will do our best to let you know what is coming and when below, games listed alphabetically.

If it looks like we don’t know much about this port, that’s because we don’t. This one has been rumored to be in various stages of completion for years now. It was reportedly in beta testing a couple of years ago, the release has been eminent a few times, but still we have nothing. We don’t have any extra information, but we figured we would make a spot for it on our list here and see how many consecutive updates it will remain. The game itself is a classic gateway card drafting game, it’s a quick playing game that is a great introduction to modern board gaming. Let’s hope that the app actually exists sometime soon and that the port creates an accurate version of the classic game.

1812: The Invasion Canada is the latest in the long line of war games from Hexwar. The company has a deep catalogue of digital war games spanning a variety of real-life conflicts. This one tackles the overlooked attempt by the United States to conquer Canada during the War of 1812. The board game is an area control/conflict game which uses dice and cards to settle battles and introduce events. The game will be available in June on Steam. While no date has been announced, the game will be ported to Android and iOS further down the road.

Bottom of the 9th is a quick playing dice and card game which captures the excitement of the final three outs in a tightly contested baseball game. The port will be the second foray into board game ports by Handelabra games, coming after their great Sentinels of the Multiverse adaptation. Bottom of the 9th will be a complete 180 in terms of weight and gameplay, but we have high hopes that Handelabra will deliver.
